Password and Security

Go to Settings > Password to manage your login credentials.

What you see on this page depends on how you signed up. There are two different flows.

If you signed up with email and password

You already have a password, so this page lets you change it.

  1. Current password. Enter the password you use now. There is a visibility toggle (the eye icon) so you can show or hide what you are typing.
  2. New password. Type your new password. As you type, the app checks it against the requirements listed below and shows a strength meter.
  3. Confirm password. Re-enter the new password. The app checks that both fields match before letting you save.

Click Save when everything looks good.

If you signed up with Google

When you created your account using Google sign-in, you do not have a password on file. This page gives you the option to add one.

Setting a password means you can log in with either Google or your email and password. It is a good backup in case you ever lose access to your Google account.

The process is simpler since there is no "current password" to enter. You just set a new password and confirm it.

Password requirements

Your new password must meet all of these:

  • At least 10 characters long
  • Contains at least one uppercase letter
  • Contains at least one lowercase letter
  • Contains at least one number

Password strength meter

As you type your new password, a visual bar shows how strong it is:

  • Weak. The bar is short and red. Your password meets the minimum but could be guessed easily. Consider making it longer or more varied.
  • Medium. The bar reaches the middle and turns yellow. Decent, but there is room to improve.
  • Strong. The bar fills up and turns green. Your password is solid.

The meter updates in real time as you type, so you can see the effect of adding more characters or mixing in symbols.

Your security

Your password is never stored in a readable form. CoreHue uses industry-standard practices to keep your account safe. Always choose a password you do not use anywhere else.
