Setting up your account

Right after you verify your email, CoreHue asks three short questions. It takes a couple of minutes, and a row of dots at the top shows how far along you are. Sign out sits in the same bar if you need to stop.

Almost everything here can be changed later in Settings. One answer cannot: the thing you choose to do first, which sets the checklist on your Home screen for good.

Step 1: What would you like to do first?

Pick one. This decides which checklist waits for you on Home.

Option	What it sets you up to do
Deliver photos to a client	Create a polished gallery, add photos, and share it with your client
Let clients inquire or book	Publish your services so clients can inquire or reserve a date
Send a proposal to a client	Share pricing, options, and next steps in one place
Send an invoice to a client	Create an invoice and give your client clear ways to pay

Choose whatever is most pressing this week. If you've a shoot to deliver on Friday, pick the gallery option. If you're tired of answering the same inquiry email, pick the booking one.

You aren't locked out of anything else. Every feature is available from day one. This only decides where CoreHue points you first. See Where to start.

Step 2: What kind of photography do you do?

Choose up to 3. The options sit in three groups:

• People and celebrations: Wedding, Portraits and headshots, Family and newborn, Lifestyle
• Business and brand: Commercial and brand, Product and e-commerce, Food and beverage, Fashion and editorial, Real estate and interiors
• Events and documentary: Events and conferences, Sports and teams, Documentary and photojournalism

Once you've picked three, the rest grey out. Deselect one to swap it.

If you choose more than one, CoreHue asks What's your main focus? and suggests the first one you picked. Change it if the suggestion is wrong. Your choices and your main focus together decide which contract templates, questionnaires and email templates your account starts with. With a single choice there's nothing to ask, so the question doesn't appear.

Step 3: Make CoreHue yours

Four fields, one of them optional.

Your CoreHue URL

This is your username, and it becomes the base of every web address your clients see:

yourname.corehue.co/summer-wedding      ← a gallery
yourname.corehue.co/services            ← your booking page
yourname.corehue.co/i/a1b2c3            ← an invoice

So it turns up on everything you send. Pick something you'd be happy putting on a business card. CoreHue checks as you type and shows Available or Already taken straight away.

The rules: lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens only, 3 to 30 characters, and it can't start or end with a hyphen. Some names are reserved and won't be accepted.

Worth thirty seconds of thought: your username is baked into every link you send a client. Changing it later means those links stop working.

If you would rather use your own domain, something like photos.yourstudio.com, you can add one later. See Your links and domain.

Business or studio name

What clients should see. This appears on your booking page, invoices, contracts and client emails. Something like Jane Smith Photography.

CoreHue fills this in from your name, so check it rather than assume it.

Country

This sets how your dates, times and numbers are written, and it sets your timezone.

It does not set the currency you bill in. That's a separate, one-time choice you make later. See Your currency below.

Logo

Optional, and easy to skip for now. JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF or GIF, up to 5 MB. It appears on your client-facing pages and documents.

If you don't have one ready, leave it. CoreHue uses your business name until you add one, and you can upload it any time from Settings → Business.

Starting your trial

The last step's button is Set up my workspace. Setup then finishes on a screen headed Your workspace is ready, with one button: Start free trial. Your 14 days on Core begin from there, and no card is required.

Then you land on your Home screen with a checklist based on what you chose in step 1. Have a look at Your Home screen, or Your first 30 minutes for a guided run at getting something real done.

CoreHue also sets your account up with starter contract templates, questionnaires and email templates chosen around your main focus, plus a recommended set of client reminders.

Your currency comes later

Your default currency is set separately from setup, and it is permanent.

You'll be prompted for it the first time you need it: on the Home checklist if you chose the invoice track, or under Settings → Profile, where Set your default currency sits until it's answered. The confirmation says This can't be changed later, and it means it.

Nothing can be priced or invoiced until it's set, so it's worth doing early and getting right. On Core you bill in that one currency. Pro lets you invoice in others alongside it. See Currencies and countries.

Changing your answers later

• Business name and logo: Settings → Business
• Username, country and timezone: Settings → Profile. Business has its own country field for your business address, which is a different setting.
• What you chose to do first: fixed. There's no way to change it or pick a second track, and the checklist goes away once you finish it.
• Your default currency: fixed once set.
