Setting Up a Custom Domain
Before you start
You will need:
- A domain you own (like
yourname.comor a subdomain likegallery.yourname.com) - Access to your domain settings (usually through your registrar like Namecheap, GoDaddy, Google Domains, or Cloudflare)
Step 1: Add your domain in CoreHue
Go to Settings > Domains and click Add Domain. Enter the domain you want to use (for example, www.yourname.com or clients.yourname.com).
CoreHue will show you the exact record you need to add with your domain provider.
Step 2: Update your domain settings
Go to your domain provider and add the record CoreHue gives you. The instructions are shown right on the page, so you can follow along step by step.
Changes with your domain provider can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours to take effect, though most are quick.
Step 3: Verify
Back in CoreHue, click Verify to check that everything is set up correctly.
If verification fails, double-check:
- The record you added matches exactly what CoreHue showed you
- Enough time has passed for the change to take effect (try again in 15 to 30 minutes)
Step 4: You are live
Once verified, your domain is ready. Visit it in a browser to confirm everything is working. Your pages are automatically served securely over HTTPS.
Using your custom domain
After setup, go to Settings > Domains and set your custom domain as your preferred URL. From that point on, all new links CoreHue generates (emails, share buttons, copied URLs) will use your custom domain instead of yourname.corehue.co.
Tips
- Subdomain vs root domain. Most setups use a subdomain like
www.yourname.comorclients.yourname.com. If you want to use a bare root domain (likeyourname.comwithout the www), check with your domain provider to see if they support it. - One domain per account. You can connect one custom domain to your CoreHue account.
- Removing a domain. Go to Settings > Domains and click Remove. Your pages revert to
yourname.corehue.coand all new links update accordingly.
