The payments list
Invoices are what you asked for. Payments is what actually arrived.
The figures at the top
Total received, This month and Outstanding.
Total received and This month are net of refunds, so they show what you kept rather than what passed through.
Outstanding is the one worth looking at regularly. It's the balance left on every invoice that isn't paid or cancelled, drafts included. That's money you've earned and haven't been given, and it's usually larger than people expect.
The list
One row per payment, showing the date it was received, its receipt number, the invoice it belongs to, the method, the contact and the amount.
A refunded payment shows its figure struck through with a Refunded or Partially refunded badge, and a Stripe refund still in progress shows Refund processing.
Opening a row shows that payment's receipt as a document. Card payments carry a Payment breakdown above it. The actions that belong to the payment sit alongside: Send receipt, Download PDF, Email history, and Refund payment or Record refund. Remove payment appears where the payment was recorded by hand and can still be removed.
Filtering
Search by contact name or invoice number.
Currency, when you work in more than one. Figures are never added across currencies, so you're always looking at one at a time.
Period: All time, This week, This month, Last month, This quarter, This year, Last year, or Custom with your own dates. It opens on This year.
Payment channel: Card (Stripe), Bank (Stripe), Cash, Check, Bank Transfer or Other, with All channels as the default.
Channel is worth a look occasionally. If almost everything comes by transfer, the card fees you're paying may not be buying you much. If most people use the card link, keeping Stripe healthy matters more than you think.
Payments waiting for review
The same page also lists the payments clients say they've made and you haven't confirmed. You reach that list from Home, where those payments appear under things needing attention.
The page then shows Awaiting review and Amount awaiting confirmation, then a row per claim with the contact's name, where it came from, when it was submitted and how much. Opening a row takes you to the invoice, booking or proposal it belongs to. Clear filter returns you to the ordinary list. See Reviewing payment proof.
Clearing this promptly matters. Every item is a client who thinks they've paid and is waiting to hear back. It may also be a booking that can't confirm until you act.
Payments and reports
