Invoice reminders

CoreHue can chase unpaid invoices so you don't have to.

You set them up alongside your booking and document reminders under Settings → Reminders, in the Invoice reminders section. See Reminders for the full page.

Turning them on​

One switch turns invoice reminders on: "Send reminders while an invoice has an outstanding balance." Underneath it, tick the points you want. The list is greyed out until the switch is on.

When they go out​

Reminders are timed around the invoice's due date:

  • 7 days before due
  • On the due date
  • 3 days after due
  • 7 days after due
  • 14 days after due

These points are fixed, so you tick the ones you want rather than setting your own. Everything except 14 days after is ticked to begin with, and most people leave it near that: one before, a nudge on the day, and two after.

They stop on their own​

As soon as an invoice has no balance left, its reminders stop. Nobody who has paid gets chased. That's the thing people fear most about automating this.

They also stop when the invoice is cancelled or written off.

No due date, no reminders​

Reminders are worked out from the due date. An invoice without one is never overdue and never chased.

This is the single most common reason someone says reminders aren't working.

Pausing for one invoice​

While an invoice is open, partially paid or overdue, its header shows a reminder pill with a Pause button for that invoice alone. CoreHue asks you to confirm, then the button becomes Resume. That's what you want when a client has told you they're paying on Friday and you'd rather CoreHue didn't nag them on Thursday.

Sending one yourself​

Send reminder on the same pill opens a composer so you can say something specific rather than let the scheduled one go. Useful for a long-overdue invoice where a personal note lands better.

Why automate it​

Chasing money is the job photographers put off most, and the delay is expensive. An automatic reminder is easier for both sides. Nobody feels personally pursued, and you're not deciding each morning whether today is the day you send an awkward email.
