A client wants to move their date

Before you agree

Check you are actually free. If the new time overlaps another booking, CoreHue stops you, says so, and asks for a reason before it will save. You can still double-book deliberately. You just cannot do it by accident.

Check your cancellation and rescheduling policy. If you set one on the service, or wrote one into the contract, this is the moment it exists for.

Decide about the deposit. Usually it carries over. If you are going to charge a fee for the change, say so before you move anything, not after.

Moving it

Open the booking. On the Summary card, press Reschedule booking.

The dialog offers Date, End date (optional) for multi-day work, Start and End times, and Location.

Turn on Notify client while you are there. It is off by default. That is right when you are correcting your own typo, and wrong when the client is expecting confirmation. If you leave it off, nothing is sent and they still have the old date in their diary.

If the new time clashes, CoreHue shows This time overlaps another booking, with "You can go back or save with a recorded reason." It then asks for a Reason for overlap before Save anyway will do anything. The reason is kept with the change.

Either way, your Google Calendar event and any meeting link move with the booking.

If the booking has not been scheduled yet

A booking that is still holding a reservation reads Edit reservation, or Set schedule if no date has been chosen at all. Same dialog, same fields.

If the session has already happened

Once the date has passed, the three-dot menu adds Fix schedule record alongside rescheduling, because only you know which happened. It corrects what is on file and asks you why in a required Reason for correction. It sends nothing, and it leaves calendars, meetings and reminders alone. That is the right tool for a typo on last month's wedding. Use Reschedule booking when the session genuinely moved.

What does not change on its own

The contract. It was signed with the original date in it. For a small move, a note on the contact's record is usually enough. For a big change, or where the date really matters, issue a new contract. See Sending and signing.

The invoice. Amounts and due dates stay as they were. If the balance was due before the new session date, adjust it.

Questionnaires already sent. Those answers are in. Check anything you had scheduled around the old date.

If they move it a long way

For a move of months rather than days, ask whether it is still the same booking. A wedding moving from June to the following June is arguably a new agreement. Your prices may have changed, and your availability certainly has.

It is usually cleaner to cancel and rebook than to stretch one booking across a year.

If they move it repeatedly

Worth having a limit and saying it out loud. A booking that moves three times is usually one that is going to cancel, and it has blocked a date the whole time.

If they cannot reschedule and have to cancel

Cancel booking is in the three-dot menu. It warns that "This closes the booking and releases its reserved time," then asks for a Reason (optional). It also offers Notify contact by email, which is off by default. Turn it on if you want them to get the email.

Money is not refunded automatically. Handle that under Refunds according to your policy.
