Set up CoreHue for portrait sessions

Portrait work is higher volume and faster moving than weddings. Families, headshots, seniors, and couples often just want to pick a time and get booked. CoreHue lets them do that on their own, while still feeling personal and on-brand.

Here's how to set it up.

How portraits usually flow

Portraits suit self-service: a client picks a session, chooses a time, and pays, all without waiting on you. Then you collect a few details and deliver. The less back-and-forth, the better.

Set it up

  1. Create a portrait service. In Bookings → Services, add your session with its price, length, and what's included.
  2. Turn on self-service booking. Use Self-service mode so clients book a time instantly instead of inquiring first.
  3. Set tight availability. Add the windows you actually want to shoot in, plus buffer time, in Availability. Clients only see real openings.
  4. Take payment at booking. Require a deposit or full payment as part of the booking so a held slot is a real one. See Getting paid online.
  5. Connect your calendar. Link Google Calendar so busy times disappear from your page and new sessions sync automatically.
  6. Collect a few details. Send a short questionnaire for outfit plans, who's in the photos, and any must-have shots.
  7. Deliver the gallery. Share a branded gallery, turn on downloads at the sizes you want, and let clients pick favorites.

A few tips

  • Offer add-ons like extra time or a second outfit with packages and add-ons.
  • Save your portrait questionnaire as a template so every booking reuses it.
  • Share your booking link in your Instagram bio so clients can book without messaging you first.
