What CoreHue doesn't do
Every tool has edges. Here are ours, plainly, so you can plan around them instead of hunting for a setting that is not there.
Watermarks
There is no watermarking. You cannot have CoreHue stamp your logo across gallery images.
If you need watermarked previews, apply them in your editing software before uploading. Lightroom and Capture One both do it on export.
Worth saying: for most delivery work, watermarks annoy more people than they stop. If you are worried about people taking full-resolution files, the download controls are the better tool. Under the gallery's Settings → Downloads, switch Original off, offer only the smaller size, and leave the download PIN on.
Selling prints
There is no print store, lab integration or shopping cart. Clients cannot buy prints, albums or digital files through a CoreHue gallery.
CoreHue delivers work and handles the money side through invoices. If someone wants prints, you invoice them and order through your own lab. A selection request is the closest thing. Your client picks the frames they want and sends the list back, and you take it from there.
If print sales are central to how you earn, keep a print-sales tool alongside CoreHue rather than expecting one to replace the other.
Team members and second shooters
CoreHue is built for one person. There is no way to add a team member, a second shooter, an assistant or an editor with their own login, and no permission levels.
One account, one person. If you work with a second shooter, they deliver their files to you and you handle delivery.
A mobile app
There is not one. CoreHue runs in a web browser.
It is built to work on a phone, so you can check a booking or reply to a client from wherever you are. There is nothing to install though, no push notifications, and nothing that works without a connection.
A website builder
Not yet. You get branded client-facing pages, your booking page, galleries, invoices, proposals, contracts, questionnaires and intake forms, and they can all run on your own domain.
What you do not get is a homepage. Your bare web address shows a page saying it cannot be found, so CoreHue is not a replacement for your website.
Bulk importing your contacts
You cannot bring contacts in from a file. They are added one at a time, or they create themselves when someone inquires, books or fills in a form.
In practice this matters less than it sounds. Most photographers moving over do not need their whole history. They need the clients they are actively working with, and everyone else arrives naturally as they get back in touch. See Recording work from before CoreHue.
Merging or deleting contacts
Two contact records cannot be combined. CoreHue warns you about a duplicate email before you create one, but it cannot fix one afterwards. Contacts cannot be deleted either. You archive them instead, which keeps their history and takes them out of your active list. See The same client twice.
There are no bulk actions on the contacts list either, so archiving several is one at a time.
Automations and workflows
You cannot build your own automations. There is no screen for joining up triggers and actions the way a dedicated client-management tool does.
What you get instead is a set of things that happen on their own. Reminders go out for bookings, invoices and documents. Questionnaires send themselves around a booking. Contracts are signed at the point of booking. An invoice is raised the moment a proposal is accepted, and a booking is created for you once that client has signed and paid.
That covers what most photography businesses actually need, but you cannot build your own sequences on top of it.
Smaller gaps worth knowing
No export of questionnaire answers. You read responses on screen, one request at a time. There is no spreadsheet of everyone's answers to the same form.
No inquiry you create yourself. Inquiries only arrive through a public inquiry service. There is no New inquiry button anywhere. To record a conversation that started elsewhere, add the contact and create a booking, proposal or invoice directly.
No download-ready email. When a client prepares a gallery download, the link appears on the page they are already on. Nothing is emailed to them, so they need to stay on that page or come back and prepare it again.
No view counter on a gallery. The gallery's Activity has four tabs, Downloads, Collections, Email Registration and Private Photos, but no count of how many times the gallery was opened.
Clients cannot take back a reported payment. Once someone presses I've made this payment, their page reads Awaiting confirmation and only you can confirm or reject it.
No daily or weekly summary. Notifications arrive as things happen. Busy gallery activity is the one exception. New collections, downloads, full-gallery downloads and private photos are gathered into one message every 90 minutes, rather than one email each. There is no roundup beyond that, and no way to set your own schedule.
No button that puts your starter templates back. If you delete one of the contracts, questionnaires or emails you started with, use Add from CoreHue in that template library to pull a fresh copy out of the catalogue.
Why we list this
You will work all of it out eventually. Finding out in week one is better than finding out the night before a delivery, and a help center that only describes what works is not much help.
If something here is a dealbreaker, better you know now.
