Creating Contracts

Go to Contracts and click New Contract. Start from scratch or use a template.

The editor

A rich text editor where you write your contract. You can format text, insert variables that auto-fill, and add fields for the client to fill in.

Setting up a contract

  • Title - The contract name
  • Body - The contract text
  • Client - Who it's for
  • Booking - Optionally link to a booking (enables booking variables)
  • Invoice - Optionally link to an invoice (enables financial variables)
  • Expiry date - Optional deadline for signing
  • Fields - Form inputs the client fills in (see Fields)

Contract number

Auto-generated (like "CON-001") using your configured format.

Editing rules

  • Draft contracts can be freely edited.
  • Sent contracts can be edited, but this reverts them to draft. Any existing signature is removed, and the client gets a notification.
  • Once signed, completed, declined, expired, or voided, a contract can't be edited.

Deleting

Only draft contracts can be deleted. For anything else, use Void instead.

Starting from a template

Pick a template when creating and its body and fields are copied in. You can customize everything before sending. See Templates.
