Comments

Sometimes a client has a question about a clause before they're ready to sign. Comments let them ask it right on the contract, so you can sort out the wording in one place instead of a long email chain.

How clients leave a comment

While your contract is awaiting signature, the client can highlight a clause and leave a comment on it. They choose the clause first, if they don't, they'll see a prompt to "Choose a clause first to leave a comment." You're notified whenever a client comments.

Replying and resolving

You'll find comments on the contract's detail page, under Contract Review and Discussion. From there you can:

  • Reply to the client, and your reply shows up for them on the contract.
  • Resolve a thread once it's settled, or reopen it if there's more to discuss.

Each thread is either Open or Resolved, so it's easy to see what's still outstanding.

note

Comments are only available while a contract is sent and awaiting signature. Once it's signed, declined, or expired, the discussion closes.
