Merging clients
Sometimes the same person ends up in your list twice, maybe they booked once and inquired another time under a slightly different name. When that happens, you can merge the two into one clean profile.
How merging starts
Merging is tied to email. It happens when you give one client an email address that already belongs to another client.
To merge two clients, open the one you want to keep, click Edit, and change their email to the address used by the duplicate. CoreHue spots the match and asks Merge clients? Choose Merge clients to combine them.
There's no separate "pick two clients and merge" button. Merging is always triggered by the duplicate email, so this is the way to do it.
What gets combined
When you merge, everything from the other client moves onto the one you kept:
- Bookings, invoices, contracts, galleries, and proposals all re-point to the surviving client
- Empty fields fill in: if the client you kept is missing a phone, company, or address, CoreHue copies it from the other one. Details you already have are never overwritten.
- Notes are combined into one list
- Tags are merged, with no duplicates
- Revenue is added together
Once everything is combined, the duplicate client is removed and you're left with a single, complete profile.
A note on Add client
If you're adding a brand-new client and enter an email that already exists, that's not a merge, CoreHue just shows Client already exists and points you to that person with a View client button. Merging only happens when you change an existing client's email on the edit screen.
