Per-service availability

By default every direct booking draws on your shared availability. A single service can run on its own schedule instead.

Open the service, go to the Availability & location tab, and turn on Use this service's own schedule, "Set separate hours and booking rules for this service."

When it's worth doing

Reserving certain hours for certain work. Headshots on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings only, while everything else uses your normal hours.

Work with different practicalities. A quick studio session can take a booking tomorrow. A location shoot needs a week's notice.

Seasonal or limited offerings. A service that only runs on a handful of days, without disturbing anything else.

What you can change

Turning it on gives the service its own copy of:

  • Weekly availability and Specific dates
  • Timezone
  • Booking gap
  • Minimum notice
  • Booking window

The first time you switch it on, these start as a copy of your shared settings, so you're adjusting rather than starting from nothing. While the switch is off, a View shared availability link takes you to the settings this service is following.

Everything here saves with the rest of the service when you press Save, including any specific dates you add.

Google Calendar

Avoid Google Calendar conflicts, "Hide times that overlap busy Google Calendar events", starts off on a service running its own schedule, even when Google Calendar is connected.

That's deliberate. The point of a separate schedule is often to run a service independently of everything else. But it does mean a service can be booked over a personal appointment, so turn it on for this service if that matters.

Blocking shared availability

Block shared availability, "Bookings here also block the same time for services using shared availability", decides whether a booking on this service makes you unavailable everywhere else.

Leave it on and you can't be booked twice for the same hour. That's normally what you want, since you can't be in two places at once.

This works in one direction by design. A booking here blocks your shared timeline, but an ordinary booking on your shared timeline does not block this service's own slots. That's the whole point of a separate schedule. It's also the setting most likely to surprise you, so think it through before you turn it off.

Mini session services carry the same switch, at the top of Schedule on the Dates & location tab, and it is on by default.

Turning it off again

Switch back to your shared availability and the service uses your normal hours again. The custom schedule is kept, so switching back and forth doesn't lose your work.

Seeing it on your calendar

The calendar has a view selector in the top right. It opens on Shared availability. Each service with its own schedule gets its own entry, so you can see that service's day rather than everything at once. See Calendar.
